Abbeys news updates

Abbeys has a new home for the iconic Friday auction, in Burwood

Abbeys Auctions has been providing expert auction, valuation and estate management services to Victorians since 1969.  For the past 5 years we've traded from two locations, in Box Hill and Burwood.  Our Box Hill clients have been amazingly loyal and patient because we've long out-grown that space and things were getting very squeezy there.

So, to celebrate our 50th birthday, we're making the move to much larger premises only a few minutes down the road at 80-86 Highbury Road Burwood.  It's a pretty neat birthday present!

The last full Friday auction at Box Hill will be held on this Friday 3rd April, - so be sure to tune into the live auction webcast from 9am and join us in bidding farewell to our old home.

Our new building is right next door to the current home of our famous Collectables & Classics and Unclaimed Goods auctions.  There is plenty of carparking at both the front and the rear of the building, lots of indoor space and an airconditioned showroom for your comfort on auction days.  Renovations have been underway for a few months now and our team will host the Friday Households Goods auction at our new space from 17th April - the first Friday after Easter.

We are excited to invite you down to experience the new Abbeys, but sadly at the moment we'll need to postpone the birthday party until after the current COVID-19 threat is over.

All of our auction rooms remain closed until the threat is over.

In the mean time we'll progressively show you some sneak preview pics as we set up our new space.  Watch this page for updates in the coming weeks.

Bushfire Support

Our thoughts and wishes are with those who have lost their homes, habitat and livelihood in the devastating bushfires.  The impact of this disaster is far reaching for both our natural environment and our rural communities.

Abbeys supports the recovery effort and we will be working with charity partners to make a difference.

If you would like to participate by donating your auction proceeds to the Bushfire support please contact Amanda or Hugh ph 0488 118 190.

Stay tuned for further details here now that the fires have abated and the recovery effort progresses.

Shelter for a Gippsland family impacted by the fires.

Abbeys recently donated a caravan to be used by a Gippsland family who have lost everything in the recent bushfires.  We have been working with the Vinnies Bushfire Appeal to identify whats needed and we are proud to make a small contribution to help the recovery effort.  The vintage van came equipped with utensils, annex and accessories to provide temporary accomodation for a family of four as they start the long process of rebuilding.
